For a light down jacket
1st step: washing
If your down jacket is stained, gently rub the stain with your detergent using a washcloth or towel. You can then machine wash your down jacket with a 30 ° C synthetic program and your usual detergent. Remember to close all the zips of your down jacket before putting it into the washing machine. In order for it to retain its loft during washing, we recommend that you add two clean tennis balls. This allows the down to ventilate well during washing!
2nd step: drying
After the washing step comes the drying step, which should not be neglected. Start by blotting your down jacket with a towel to remove any excess water.
The tumble dryer is the best way to restore feather loft. Use the synthetic program. To shake up the jacket, take tennis balls again and put everything back in the dryer until the feather is completely dry (2/3 cycles necessary). Between each cycle, take out your down jacket to shake it and distribute the feather correctly.
If you don't have a tumble dryer you can of course dry your down jacket on a drying rack. However, this may take several days depending on the thickness of your down jacket. Turn over and pat your down jacket regularly to prevent the feathers from clumping. Never dry your jacket on a radiator.
If, despite these precautions, stains appear, it is a bad rinsing, just repeat the wash with less detergent.
Depending on the materials used, the maintenance codes differ. Remember to refer to the maintenance codes for each product.
